New Media Advisory
Whether it’s advising on publication deadlines, appropriate scripting or other matters, whether content is defamatory or in breach of Commonwealth or State legislation or intelligence legislation, XD Law defends new media individuals from defamation attacks, police actions or actions of the state to shut them down. Our team combines years of expertise in media and litigation to act in civil or criminal trials if new media individuals are charged or accused of defamation, and we also provide quick-form late night advisory on media matters.
Defamation
Too often those that seek to hold the powerful to account will find themselves on the pointy end of legal threats intended to silence criticism. Protecting freedom of speech and standing up to threats is at the heart of XD Law’s advocacy. Many of legal threats are tactical, designed to win an apology or have a story stopped or taken down.
